Edward Elliott, with encouragement of the Tyndale House Foundation, lay the initial foundations of the Africa Leadership study by approaching and consulting with Robert Priest. He discussed the possible parameters of research with a variety of Foundations interested in Africa. He met regularly with Robert Priest, Mary Kleine Yehling, and Bob Reekie to plan and strategize as the project evolved. He played an advisory role through every phase of research and writing, helping the team understand the interests of the Tyndale House Foundation, and provided encouragement, advice, and support.
